Seafood Fra Diavolo

Pasta with loads of seafood in a spicy tomato sauce, a go to of mine when I go out for Italian food

Who’s ready for a spicy pasta dish? Seafood Fra Diavolo is pasta in a spicy tomato sauce with tons of seafood. Here I have shrimp, scallops, calamari, and clams all cooked to perfection. This is a dish I would always order at Italian restaurants cause I’m a sucker for seafood. The seafood paired with the pasta and the heat from the sauce is a combo I love. You are able to customize this dish with the seafood of your choice, same with the noodles. Make this for your next Italian feast.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 40 minutes

Serves: 4

Ingredients

12 oz gf pasta cooked

Salt to taste

Pepper to taste

1 onion diced

2 T garlic minced

Olive oil

10 shrimp peeled and deveined

10 scallops

1/2 lb squid tubes sliced thin

10 clams

28 oz can crushed tomatoes

1.5 T basil

2 t crushed red pepper flakes

1/2 c white wine

Parmesan cheese garnish

Parsley garnish

1.5 T oregano

2 T tomato paste

2 t fennel seed

3/4 c seafood broth

3 T butter

Directions

1. Heat oil in skillet over medium. Saute onion 3-4 mins and stir in garlic cooking 2 mins.

2. Deglaze with wine and reduce by half.

3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, all spices, seafood broth and butter. Reduce heat to simmer cooking 15-20 mins. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If sauce thickens too much, add more broth to thin out

4. Season all seafood with salt and pepper. Heat skillet with oil and cook each seafood by itself. Cook shrimp 3-4 mins, scallops 1.5-2 mins per side, squid 2-3 mins and clams several mins until shells open.

5. Take cooked pasta and toss in sauce, fold in seafood and plate.

6. Garnish with Parmesan and parsley. Serve.
